ICI Completes New Jewel Osco Prototype Store
(Deerfield, IL) – On Wednesday, July 19, 2017 Jewel Osco commemorated the grand opening of their new prototype store in Deerfield, Illinois with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The 61,940 square foot grocery store is located at the corner of Waukegan and Lake Cook Roads.
ICI was hired as the general contractor for the new construction grocery store. The store was built between an existing, occupied strip center and the small portion of the existing Jewel Osco that remained in operation until the new store was opened. The striking façade of the new store incorporates a mixture of metal panel and masonry. The design of the Deerfield location signifies a departure from other Jewel Osco stores and establishes an updated, fresher look.
The new Deerfield store provides increased offerings and amenities such as fresh sushi, a juice bar, a customer seating area as well as expanded departments (floral, pharmacy, seafood / meats, express check-out lanes).
The Deerfield Jewel Osco marks the ninth project ICI has completed for the grocer. Within recent years, ICI has built more than $300 million in new construction, interior build-outs, renovations and expansions for retailers and developers such as Mariano’s Fresh Market, Jewel Osco, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., Joe Caputo & Sons, Barrett & Porto and Bradford Real Estate.
