Elmhurst CUSD 205, ICI and Wight & Co. were recognized as a finalist for the design and construction of Field Elementary School as part of the 2026 Chicago Building Congress Merit Awards program. Our team will find out the results next month as to whether the project will take home top honors in the Education: PreK – 12 Category.
For 70 years, the Merit Awards program has celebrated the Chicago area building industry by recognizing the most outstanding projects in a variety of categories and project types. Entrants are judged individually in multiple judging sessions by a panel of Chicago Building Congress members based on the following:
– distinctive, functional, or innovative design
– quality of construction
– impact of the project upon the community
– safety record
