After completing a major renovation to the Dan and Ada Rice Athletic Center, ICI was contracted to create a state-of-the-art football center on the northwest side of the existing athletic facility. Named after the family of a then-senior football athlete, the football center inhabits the site of the former unused racquetball courts as well as a 1,675 square foot addition on the west side of the building.
The center features flat panel televisions, an 8’ marker board wall for game preparation, 121 professional wood lockers, shower facilities, a team meeting area and players’ lounge. The lighting adds a dynamic element to the space; LED lights shift the space from standard lighting to the school’s powerful red hue. The lockers accommodate today’s football equipment and include storage for helmets, shoulder pads and have lockable space for personal items. The vacant second floor weight room, which was not in use, was also renovated and houses golf simulators.
