In 2006, ICI began a working relationship with Walmart. Since the relationship began, ICI has completed more than 60 projects for the retailer across the country. From Oregon to Florida to Wisconsin, ICI has continually met and exceeded the expectations associated with Walmart’s rigorous construction program. The majority of ICI’s work for Walmart has been renovations and expansions. Project scopes vary from store to store, but most involve one or more of the following: the addition or expansion of a grocery component, addition of tenant spaces (Dunkin Donuts, Subway, pharmacy, vision center, etc.), upgrades of finishes such a VCT and ceiling tile, painting or lighting improvements.
Many of these complex projects take place in 24-hour operational stores so the renovations and expansions are heavily phased and require close coordination with store management. The ICI team quite often must make temporary modifications to the store such as dust walls, creation of temporary entrances, relocation of departments to trailers or creation of interim spaces during construction.
