When Macy’s shuttered it Oakwood Mall location, it left one of the mall’s five large anchor spots vacant. In preparation of a new tenant, Brookfield Properties contracted ICI for the partial interior demolition the 104,000 square foot store. ICI demised the existing space into two tenant spaces of 39,000 square feet and 65,000 square feet.
Additionally, ICI was contracted to replace the existing electrical service and switchgear. The final portion of ICI’s scope included building a 1,600 square foot vestibule and new front entrance. The new entrance allowed for a 1,400 square foot expansion for new tenant, Hobby Lobby. To prepare for the new tenant, ICI was responsible for demolishing the old rooftop units and adding roof curbs for the new units (supplied by Hobby Lobby).
