Elgin SD U-46 Kenyon Woods Middle School

Elgin School District U-46 is implementing a districtwide shift to a sixth-through-eighth grade middle school model. Due to the shift, Kenyon Woods Middle School’s enrollment increased from 750 to over 1,100 students. An expansion of the school was necessary to accommodate the increased enrollment.

ICI fulfilled the role of construction manager on School District 46’s single-story, 47,000 square foot addition. The expansion is masonry construction and houses classrooms, science labs, conference rooms, staff offices and associated back-of-house spaces. Additionally, ICI renovated the administrative wing, staff offices, select classrooms and library media center spaces within the existing school.

Construction was completed in summer 2026.
